What is a CDE?

CDE is short for Cloud Development Environment. CDEs are on-demand development environments that are pre-configured with all tools, libraries, and dependencies needed to write and review code. They can be easily duplicated and shared across teams.

What is CDE Universe?

It is a two-day, single-track conference organized by Gitpod. CDE Universe features the leading minds of the ecosystem on how to use cloud-native developer tools to improve our collective developer experience.

Who should attend?

We'll have attendees who work in roles like platform engineering, DevOps, and developer experience as well as engineering leadership. Everyone interested in improving the developer experience of their team is welcome.

What if I cannot take two days off from work?

The event is designed to give you time to work on both Thursday and Friday. On Thursday, we'll start at 2 PM and run until 9 PM. On Friday, the event will be organized like a long “Lunch & Learn”, going from 11 AM to 4 PM.

What is included in the ticket?

The ticket includes access to the event on both days including all talks and workshops. It also includes drinks and refreshments, as well as a dinner (Thursday) and lunch (Friday).

Who is behind CDE Universe?

The conference is organized by the team at Gitpod - the developer platform for on-demand cloud development environments to create software faster and more securely.

Will there be recordings?

Yes, talks will be recorded and up on our YouTube channel after the event.
